YOUR ACCOUNT
Delete your Bygone account
This page is for Bygone, the ancient board games app. There are two ways to delete your account. Both delete it for good.
From inside the app
- Open Bygone.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type your player name. If you have not picked a name yet, type DELETE.
- Tap Delete.
It happens at once. There is no waiting period. If you are in a match, it ends as a loss.
If you cannot get into the app
Send an email to support@bygone.games from the email address your account uses, and say you want the account deleted. I will delete it and write back when it is done.
WHAT IS DELETED
- Your account and your sign-in.
- Your player name. It is retired and never given to anyone else.
- Your coins and your coin history.
- Your ratings.
- The items you own, and what you have on.
- Your friends and friend requests.
- Your chat messages, the ones you sent and the ones you got.
- Your notices.
- Your blocks, the players you blocked and the players who blocked you.
- Reports you sent about other players.
- Your bug reports, the ones you sent while signed in.
- Your open challenges, and challenges sent to you.
- Your reactions, and the matches you were watching.
- Your online status.
- Your answers to the terms of use and the chat rules.
- Records of any coins you bought.
- On your phone, you are signed out.
WHAT IS KEPT
- Finished matches and their moves stay in other players' records. Your seat shows as "Deleted player".
- Your player name is retired and kept on a list, so nobody else can ever take it.
- Warnings and bans the account received.
- Reports other players sent about the account.
- A bare record that the account existed, when it was made and deleted, and how many times its name was changed.
- If the account was banned when it was deleted, a one-way fingerprint of its email is kept, so a banned player cannot come straight back. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into the address.
